Golf Performance Training in Lake Norman area

Your Body Is What Your Swing Has to Work With.

Limited speed, power, and force production can hold back your distance and consistency on the course. At Par Performance PT, we use objective testing to measure strength, power, and movement capacity so we can identify exactly what is limiting your performance and build a customized program to help you generate more speed and swing with greater efficiency.

What Physical Limitations Are Costing You on the Course

You have hit a ceiling even with coaching

You have invested in lessons, but your swing still breaks down under pressure or fatigue. When the body cannot move the way the swing demands, technique work alone can only take you so far.

Distance and power are being left on the table

Strength deficits and limited power capacity can directly reduce your ability to generate speed through the swing. The yards you’re after are there, the body just needs the strength and power to access them.

Inconsistency follows you into every round

Without the mobility and stability to repeat your swing, small compensations creep in especially by the back nine. Inconsistency is rarely a mental problem. It is usually a physical one.

Common Conditions We Treat

Physical Gaps That Hold Golfers Back

These are the movement limitations and physical patterns we most commonly identify and address in Golf Performance programming.

Limited Hip Rotation - Restricted hip mobility that prevents full weight shift and reduces swing efficiency from the ground up.

Poor Thoracic Mobility - A stiff upper back that limits your ability to rotate fully and freely through the backswing.

Weak Core Stability - Insufficient core control that contributes to power leaks and swing breakdown under fatigue.

Reduced Power and Distance - Physical gaps in strength and rotation that leave yards behind with every club in the bag.

Fatigue Over 18 Holes - Conditioning limitations that cause movement quality to deteriorate on the back nine.

Swing Compensations - Movement patterns adopted to work around restrictions identified and addressed through TPI screening.

Limited Shoulder Turn - Shoulder and thoracic restrictions that reduce backswing depth and overall swing efficiency.

General Golf Fitness Gaps - Areas of mobility or strength a swing coach has flagged that go beyond what technique work alone can fix.

What Golfers Are Saying About Their Performance Results

Hear from golfers in the Lake Norman area who worked with Dr. Malutan to unlock more from their game.

Josh is very knowledgeable in the world of Golf and Physical therapy. Very personable and great sense of humor. Helped me improve my golf game in a matter of weeks!
Caleb Handolescu
Joshua is so excellent to work with! I have been working with him for the past 6 months and he has help me with my flexibility tremendously!! On the TPI screening I was an 28 hdcp when we began this journey and he has reduced my flexibility hdcp down to a 18 within 6 months. He is an awesome instructor and I highly recommend him for any of your golf strength training and flexibility classes.
Scott Miller
Dr. Joshua is great! He really takes the time to listen, explain what’s going on, and tailor each session to your needs. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping you feel and move better. I’ve made so much progress since my first session. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

Golf performance training raises a lot of questions. Here are the ones we hear most often before someone gets started.

Is this the same as taking golf lessons?

Not at all. Golf lessons focus on swing technique and what you do with the club. Golf performance training focuses on the body, your mobility, strength, stability, and how those physical qualities shape what your swing can and cannot do. Many golfers find that body-side work and swing coaching complement each other well, but they are completely separate disciplines.

Do I need to be injured to work with you on performance?

No. Golf performance training is specifically designed for golfers who are healthy and playing but want to perform at a higher level. If your body is limiting what your swing can do, you do not need to be in pain to benefit from this work.

How is this different from just going to the gym on my own?

A general gym routine is not built around the physical demands of the golf swing. Our programming is driven by your TPI screening results, which means every exercise is selected because of what your body specifically needs not a standard template. The work is targeted directly at what will make a measurable difference in your rotation, power, and endurance on the course.

How soon will I notice a difference in my game?

It varies depending on your starting point and how your body responds to the training. Many golfers notice improved rotation and reduced stiffness relatively early in the program. Meaningful changes in power and swing consistency typically develop over several weeks as mobility and strength build together through consistent work.

Do I have to stop playing while going through this program?

No, the program is designed to run alongside your regular golf schedule. Getting on the course while working through the program actually gives you real-time feedback on how the physical changes are translating to your swing and your game.
